Exterior Painting
Painting the exterior is an important part of properly maintaining a home. Paint serves as a first line of defense against the elements by creating a barrier to the sun, wind, rain, insects and other destructive effects. Painting is also a simple and comparatively inexpensive means of dramatically changing or updating the look of a home and enhances the curb.
The three most important things for any quality exterior finish are preparation, preparation and preparation. Although the materials used are also extremely important, even the best paint will not last if the surface is not properly prepared. Because of this, we typically spend 2 to 3 times the number of hours preparing the home or building before we ever begin to paint.
To ensure that our clients always receive the quality and customer service they expect from us, we follow a step-by-step process on every project that includes the following items:
Covering and Protecting Surfaces – Including removal of any exterior lights, tables, chairs, benches, decorations, or other personal items that might be impacted if not removed
Trenching – Digging below ground surface around the exterior of the building so that the entire wall can be sealed and painted, not just the visible areas
Mildew and Fungus Removal – Treating any mold and/or fungus to ensure that the surface is clean prior to painting is an important part of any prep process
Pressure Washing – Pressure washing the exterior, after treating for mildew and fungus, is critical to creating a clean surface for the paint to adhere to. This also includes cleaning decks, walkways, windows and lawn furniture to “refresh” all exterior elements, not just the paint. It is critical that any growth on the exterior be killed before it can be effectively removed, so the processes of pressure washing and mildew/fungus removal should never be combined.
Removal Of Peeling Paint – Scrape loose and peeling paint, then prime all bare and scrape surfaces with oil primer.
Caulking – Gut all wall cracks and before patching them match textured surfaces. Caulk all wall cracks with a 55 year caulk; this prevents water and moisture as well as bugs from entering and causing damage.
Sealing – To seal all surfaces, we use a bonding agent to ensure that the paint adheres to the surface and to prevent moisture from penetrating and/or being absorbed by, and compromising, the masonry or siding beneath
Painting – Every surface receives a MINIMUM of two coats of the highest quality Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore paint.
Cleanup – All glass windows and doors are thoroughly cleaned and paint chips are removed from the surrounding area and any exterior lights, tables, chairs, benches, decorations, or other personal items are replaced

Roof Renovation and Cleaning
Although one, if not the, most important parts of a home, the roof is often the most neglected part; yet keeping it properly maintained can add years to its functional life. Cleaning and painting a tile or tin roof can not only extend its life, but dramatically change the look of a home. Often when a new color scheme is selected for the exterior, the color of the roof may not be complementary. Rather than be limited to colors that will work well with the existing color of the roof or avoid the need to replace the roof, we can simply repaint it.
First, we treat the roof to kill any mildew or fungus. This means spraying a cleaning solution onto the surfaces with a low-pressure sprayer when the surface is dry and warm. Then we pressure wash the entire roof, including the drip edge and fascia. If gutters are attached, we also wash them out.
After the roof has been given sufficient time to dry out, we spray a minimum of two coats of Behr paint specifically designed for roofs. We only use Behr Paints because they have the highest U.V. protection available. We also offer an additional “Clear Coat Service” which includes an supplemental coat of a specialized clear sealer that will help provide a layer of additional protection and even further extend the life of the roof coating.
We paint all types of roofs, except for asphalt shingles, including tin, tile, wood, etc. Services include:
Color Changes and Varied Finishes, Guaranteed to Last, and Cleaning and Pressure Washing
